Question about 1994 Toyota Pickup
Oil pressure gauge indicates zero when there is normal pressure. I installed a new oil pressure sender (for a gauge, not a light). The wires check ok and the gauge checks ok. When it gets back together, it still indicates zero pressure.

SOURCE: oil light
No oil spiting out the open hole is not a good sign. Im sure you checked the oil level but check it again. Do not run the engine with no oil pressure or it will eat itself up in real fast. The problem could be in the pump itself. They seldom go bad but the some times they will have a clogged pick up screen or shear a pin on the gear.

the first thing you do is check the wiring to the sender, they may have damaged it when the engine hung down during the clutch change,

Unless you are in a cold part of the country, I'd suggest 10W40 or even 20W50 and see if the oil pressure improves. Mobil 1 will often yield lower oil pressure in higher mileage engines when hot. It's really not worth the money unless you live in near arctic conditions.

no you could have low oil pressure though ,find oil switch and if it has a rubber boot cover pull it back to see if has oil behind it ,if it has renew the switch
