SOURCE: what tools are needed for

If you have to ask, then it's clear that you are not qualified to perform this job. You will want to obtain a workshop manual for this vehicle. It will guide you as to what tools, materials, and safety procedures are necessary to do the job right. G/L

SOURCE: brakes pulsing on a 2005

The pulse is due to thickness variation of the rotors, have to have them machined to even 'em back up.Getting hard to find a shop that will do that, because replacement rotors are so cheap, but it's better to get 'em machined .They will stay true longer

You can't just change pads without turning the rotors
& you have to remove all rust from caliper slides &
abutements & lube them
You can turn the rotors by hand & know the brakes
are not the issue, if you did the proper brake service/work

Hi I have a 2008 Kia Rio that rides super but sometimes not all when I depress the brakes to stop there is a whine. Can anyone tell me what that is Rob

This noise could be generated from the front brake pads and rotors. Or brake dust accumulation in the rear brake drums. A simple cleaning process will/should fix this issue for you. Hope this helps...

Check for clearance between the rotor and the caliper, and caliper to the rim.Make sure one ,or more of the brake pads where not accidently put on backwards, with the metal on the rotor,it happens sometimes.

I am replacing the brake pads on my Kia 2007 Sedona; front and back is neeeded or just front? Took it to Kia dealer and mechanic showed me pads where very thin and needed replacement; all for $400! Heck...

If your rotors are good and fairly smooth, then a decent ceramic pad will work well. Just be aware that ceramic pads will require a slightly greater paddle pressure. They will last longer, dust up a bit less and will perform MUCH greater in stop and go traffic...

I suspect that 25 dollars per axle is a typical cost for good quality disc brake pads.

It depends on who you go to and if you want it done right. I went to the Dealership and had them put front brakes on my 2008 Dodge Avenger and it has been in the shop every 2-4 months since then for front brakes. They replaced the entire front brake system and my 08 Avenger is still eating brakes. I finally took it to a friend who owns a auto repair shop he replace the rotors which are total about 115.00 for each from AutoZone and replaced the brake pads for 50.00 so it cost me just parts 155.00 and my Avenger is running smoothly since haven't had problems with the brakes since. Go to Midas and let them change it for roughly 89.00 avoid the dealership at all cost they can run 200.00-500.00 depending on if it is just the brakes pads or if it is the rotors and pads.
