Oil light comes on after the engine has been running for a while. Only comes on when I stop and the engine idles under 1000 rpm. There is not leak under my car parking spot, i checked oil level it is ok...

if the oil level is fine, it could be just be a bad pressure sending unit or something more sinister like a blocked oil passage, spun engine bearing or a failed/ failing oil pump. I think this is life threatening serious for your engine. have a shop check it out.

01 duramax allison changed fluid and filters now in limp mode

Make sure you have the proper amount of tranny fluild in it and get that Valvoline fluid out of it. Allison transmissons have there own type of tranny fluid and you want to use it. You can buy the right stuff from a Allison dealer. Most Detroit Diesel dealers are also Allison dealers. Look them up in your phone book and they will tell you the quanity and sell you five gallon pails of the fluid. Just get the serial number off of the side of the transmisson before you call. Change the fliters again too. Believe me, this is important. My company has Yard horses with Allison transmissions and you don't want to screw with the small stuff. Service them right and they work as hard as you want.

Transmission problems

check your transmission fluid level, it is probably low. do so with the engine running and the shift lever in Park. the level should be within a certain range on the dipstick. checking it cold will be at a lower range than if you checked it hot, so be mindful of what the dipstick ranges are.
