I'm pretty sure they are not related. The clicking blinker noise even though the turn signals are not on is usually caused by a bad turn signal switch. The check engine light will require a little more home work. You wil need to pull codes from the computer. You can do this by buying an inexpensive code reader, calling your local parts stopre to see if they can pull codes for you, or bringing your vehicle into a shop to have a diagnosis done. Once you know what codes you have post them here along with an engine size and I'll do my best to help. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

There is a clicking noise whenever the blinker shuts off, like th2 blinker is still on. what is that and how do i fix it? also how do i locate and change the thrermostat on my 2004 Pontiac Grand Am?

hi the way to find where your thermostat is to follow the top hose from the radiator to the engine where it connects to the engine that is where the thermostat housing is, the clicking sound is possibly the flasher box continuing to click, i it is working as they say don't fix it, but if it bothers you you should get it replaced but also the clicking sound might just be the heater matrix inside the car cooling down, this is the thing that you get heat from in the car its like a little radiator under the dash..hope this helps

The blinker clicking sound won't stop when blinkers are off

Hello, you need to replace the flasher. It is located under the dash on the driver's side near the top of the brake pedal.

Left tail light and blinker not working, replaced bulb and checked fuse...reverse light does work.

Even if you can hear a clicking sound when you hit your left light blinker, your flasher unit can still be the problem. re- check your fuses and check for corrosion around the metal prong where your bulb screws on.

Clicking sound

The clicking sound is the park interlock solenoid. Haven't figured out why this should be connected to the fault that I think you have, which is an earth fault on your rear lights. Go to your rear light clusters and find the black earth wires and trace them to where they bolt to the bodywork, check they are clean and tight. If OK, likely to be an internal fault in the light cluster - check neither of them have water ingress. Check soldered connections are good and contacts are clean. This may solve the clicking interlock problem - it sounds like they are related, but just not sure how without a very long look at the circuit diagram.
