Sounds like low voltage on fuel injectors can be checked with a DMM. your coil pack could be weak also. also could be a bad head.. valves sticking not working properly. but sounds more like your coil pack is getting hot and wont work properly. ive had it happen many times. check your spark when its cool. then when its hot. it should be a solid blue in color orange is a weak coil.

This could very well be caused by a bad fuel injector. I had this exact problem with my '96. I to thought of the coil because I had them replaced previously. But with further diagnostics it was determined that the no 3 injector was malfunctioning.
