I would take a look at the wiring going into the switch to make sure that it is not shorting out, if it is fine then I would deffinently change the switch.

My 2002 Monte Carlos lights shut off while driving down the road at night. They shut off for like a second and then come right back on. What would cause this?

Old GM models used to do that, except they shut off for a while longer than a second. Instead of the headlight circuits being fused a thermal breaker was used which over time became weak.

Modern cars use a computer to switch lights and other stuff and the switches inside the car merely send signals telling the computers when and what to switch on or off and all the additional electronic circuitry makes things very complicated. While it is possible your problem is being caused by a bad switch or relay or a faulty connection or bad wiring it is also possible the circuitry is monitoring the current drawn by the lights and if it thinks it is too high is momentarily shutting the lights down to prevent bigger problems in the same way as those older cars.

Replacing the bulbs might help and it could be worth asking the dealer for an opinion.

Two interior lights will not go out

Bad door switch, or bad connection to it. Usually looks like a little push button pin type switch in the door jamb. Try pushing them (1 per door) in and out by hand a few times just to see if the lights go out (one at a time keep other door(s) closed) Sometimes they can be adjusted if it just the door not making full contact with the switch causing it not to activate. If no luck, try removing them from door jamb and manually connect the wires together to see if the switch itself is bad, if so, replace switch. Only other thing I could think of is a bad switch where you can turn on the interior lights manually from the light control. If you can't get it to work, you can always pull the courtesy light fuse so you don't run your battery down while you investigate the problem.

Hazard light/turn signals out

You have a short circuit in your wiring, with the hazard switch
in the "off" position can you insert the 25 amp fuse ?
If so them you have a short circuit before the switch.

I think the headgasket is bad. it will turn over and everything but just wont start. i was push starting it for about 3 days because the alternator was going out. the last time i tried to drive it right as...

without a good look i dont think i could help as yes iam a europeon mechanic but a VW is a common enough vehicle here but iam thinking cam belt here but ?? yes it could be head gasket as the oil light switch is on the head top back left side and if the gasket has failed then it could be pumping oil into piston and not going up to the head to put the oil light out ,I would strongly advise you ask a local mechanic to put his head under the bonnet and give a second opinion from on the job .

Recently got remote starter installed (not by dealer). Shortly after, light on 2WD kept switching to A4WD. When dial switched to try to get vehicle back in 2WD, light would stay for a few minutes but then...

GM has had more that their fair share of transfer case problems. I have also seen may problems caused by addition of aftermarket equipment - especially remote starters. There is a good chance that you have a damaged transfer case, but if an electrical problem was the root cause of the damage, you will only destroy a new transfer case if the electrical problem is not resolved. If the mechanic that you are going to does not have the proper equipment and/or information to diagnose your transfer case control circuits, you should consider getting a second opinion from the dealer before buying a new transfer case. I currently work in an aftermarket shop. There are several of the GM 4 wheel drive systems where the manufacturer has not released the information necessary for an aftermarket shop to properly diagnose and repair the system. Some mechanics are simply to proud to say "I can't" or "I don't know".

2001 Mercury Grand Marquis brake and ABS dash lights on and off

The red brake light is the key here. That usually indicateds a hydraulic problem. Check you fluid level in master cylinder and see if it is low. Also the level indicator sensor there in the master cylinder maybe sticking or corrioded. If ABS sees the red brake light it will shut off and turn on the ABS light, also traction control would be disabled as well.
