What is difference between on an auto on thermostate

I'm not sure exactly how this applies specifically in a car, but on a home heating and cooling (air conditioning) thermostat, it is often associated with the fan or blower setting.

If for a system fan:

"Auto On" setting in a heating / cooling system would start the fan when the temperature climbed above or dropped below the setting you on the thermostat and start the heat or cooling source. Once the thermometer indicates the desired temperature had been reached, the heating / cooling source would be stopped and the fan would turn off.

"On" would run the fan all the time, regardless if the thermostat tired to start the heat or cooling source. This would result in constant circulation of the air in the space(s) and tend to keep warm or cool spots (rooms) from being created.

2006. Why doesn't it heat or cool?

Sounds like the fan is working but not the heating/air conditioning. These may be separate . You need to have an auto electrician look at the fault as it will need to be traced.
Check your fuses befor referring to somebody else for a diagnosis, it could be a simple fuse blown that will only cost pennies to remedy yourself

I have a 2002 Chrysler 300m an the air condition doesn't blow out cold air an there are no leaks an the freeon level is full any ideas why?

I am assuming it is blowing air at normal temperature. This means the fan is working.
The problem could be the aircon relay or the thermostat. You may have to visit an auto electrician to find the reason.

Problem with air condition code p1296 the air condition not working

Hello,

The code given by your car indicates that you have problem with the cooling system in your car which is as a result of a faulty coolant temperature sensor(G62) or the problem is from the coolant thermostat.
1.The solution is to check the coolant temperature sensor and replace it if faulty.

2.check the coolant thermostat,if the coolant thermostat is faulty, please replace it.

Thank you for using fixya.

Toyota 4-runner heat will not blow hot air. blower works and air conditioning works

Thermostat stuck open, heater core clog, those are the most common causes for no heat, sometimes a leak can create an air pocket, so also check for leaks.
