If the vehicle is being run for two days and the battery goes down, it could be a charging system problem, if the vehicle is not driven in two days and the battery goes down, try having the battery disconnected from the cables while the vehicle sits for two days, if the battery goes down, it is the battery and if the battery holds a good charge , it is an electrical problem.

Are they a reliable car. Do they have any major flaws. Are they expensive to service. I'm looking at buying one.

You did not mention what type of car it was. In any case, you can check out the reliability and owner comments by using google and checking the vehicle reliability statistics. You will find lots of good information in this way.

I need to know how to program it

How to program what, why do you think you need programming (Nobody really does), and if its to solve a running problem, what else has been checked.

If this is PERFORMANCE FLASHING, you should buy a ready made flash unit tailored to your vehicle. Companys like DIABLO and ACCESSPORT can offer what will satisfy most and is fairly safe and easy (BATTERY FULLY CHARGED! Last BMW owner who towed one in, tried to flash w weak battery, 2100 dollar ECM replacement due to damaged boot "sector" of ECM)

Check alternator belt. Light is to show alternator working, not battery state.
If you have a volt meter check output is around 12.5 -14.5 volts when car running.

With the battery light on, it is leading me to think alternator not charging the battery. If you can get it started and running, take it to Autozone and have them test your battery and alternator (free test, they bring the machine into the parking lot to your vehicle). Hope this helps.

Car title

From Carfax:

Salvage Title — A Salvage Title is issued on a vehicle damaged to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle exceeds ~ 75% of its pre-damage value. This damage threshold may vary by state. Some states treat Junk titles the same as Salvage but the majority use this title to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again in that state. The following eleven states also use Salvage titles to identify stolen vehicles - AZ, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, NJ, NM, NY, OK and OR.
