SOURCE: parts and labor cost

I had a local for dealer look at my 2005 Crown Vic due to sevice engine light coming on. Was told "coil asy" on two spark plugs was bad & need to be replaced. Being a loyal customer of this dealership I OK'd the repair. The cost were $171.00 for coil asy & $185.16 for two spark plugs. Was I ripped off or what?

How much should it cost to replace a fuel injector?

Well, depends on if you are doing the work or a shop? You can replace it for around $50 for the injector give or take $20-$50 depending on where you purchase it. Can't be that involved, just release the pressure in the fuel rail at the schrader valve port, remove the fuel rail fasteners and fuel rail should be able to be raised to remove and replace the injector. Youtube has videos on how to do it.
A repair shop will of course will cost more for labor, parts marked up, shop supplies, tax....$200 or more depending on who does the work....dealership= $120/hour labor.......independent shop=$80/hour & up. Hope this helps, please ask more if needed, thanks, Mike

What is the fuel rail pressure sensor?

If it is a 4.6L V8 or a 4.0 V6 engine, the ford part number is 9F927. The price according to fordparts.com is $181 and that is list price just for the part and does not include labor to install the part. Have you had the Error codes pulled from the ODB II port? if not, you need too. The codes could tell us what part of the sensor is a problem and help tell exactly what the problem might be. The sensor could have a broken wire going to it causing it to light the "Check Engine Light" (or CEL) and the sensor could be fine if the wire is repaired.
I don't have a ford explorer but MOST fuel injection systems by using fuel to cool the injectors and the injector is given more fuel than it needs to run the engine. Any fuel not used by the injectors for combustion is returned to the tank and the fuel is placed back in the tank to be used by the fuel system again. If the fuel pressure regulator is controlled by the fuel pressure sensor and the injectors are injecting more fuel for combustion, you could be running rich and your exhaust will be very black and sooty at the tail pipe. Come back with the CEL Code and maybe we can find out more about the exact problem with your car.

I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer 4.3 4 wheel drive. It stalled and would not start again. The garage said the fuel pump and fuel regulator first , hen they replaced that they now say its the spider assembly on...

No.
The spider is one injector that supplies six small lines going to the cylinders instead of having one injector for each cylinder.
I would ask for a partial refund for parts and/or labor on the fuel pump job if that did not fix the problem. They should apply some or most of that cost to the cost of replacing the injector assembly if they diagnosed the problem as being the pump first.

How much it will cost me to fix code 204 injector in my 2002 dodge intrepid?

The cost would depend on the problem and labor costs in your area.
If the problem is the injector, the part is around $70 plus labor.
If the problem is in the wiring the cost would be per hour to fix it.
You can call around your area to get an estimate on replacing the injector plus diagnostic time.

My 2006 chevy aveo displaying check engine light. error code is po 420 "catalyst system efficiency is below threshhold". i took it to my local mechanic and he changed the electric coil wiring....

Oh My God. Talk to an honest mechanic! You probably have a bad oxygen sensor. It will cost you about $45 dollars for a new one. You can change it yourself. It is the oxygen sensor that is located just to the rear of the catalytic converter. replace it and have the codes cleared at an auto parts store. If the code comes back, then you may need to replace the oxygen sensor that is on the engine exhaust. An auto parts store can look at the voltage of each oxygen sensor and tell you which one is bad. Each oxygen sensor should be bouncing around on the voltage and should frequently be at around .7 volts. If one of them is at .1 or .2 volts, that is the bad one. Buy that one and replace it. Very simple. DO NOT DO THE $1400 repair. That repair shop is trying to take you. Hope this helps.

How much can i expect to pay to have a fuel level sensor replaced in 2006 xterra

To replace the fuel pump calls for 2 hours of labor time.

So about 160 dollars (depending on labor time) plus cost of the part plus the shop supply fee.

Can bad fuel injector damage spark plugs on a 2005 Ford Expedition? and if fuel injectors being replaced should less labor be needed for spark plug replacement?

A bad fuel injector can cause spark plug issues. If the injector does not supply enough fuel, the cylinder(s) without enough fuel will run hot, often damaging the spark plugs.

But your mechanic needs to make sure that the injector is the issue and not a fuel pressure issue from regulator, filter, or pump. Hopefully he/she has already done those checks.

As far as the labor cost being less the spark plugs wouldn't be removed during the fuel injector replacement. Even if they did, most mechanics won't cut the price. But if you are a regular customer it can't hurt to ask.
