SOURCE: instructions on how to replace

Your thermostat is inside your water neck housing. Your water neck housing has a radiator hose that plugs into the front of it and should be on the top part of your engine (just as a reference to help you find it.). Once you have the housing off antifreeze will go everywhere (unless you bleed the system first) and you will be able to see your thermostat inside and will be able to replace. Put back together as you found it and you're done. Hope this helps, let me know how it goes. Goodluck! (PS Sometimes your new thermostat needs to be broken in in order to work properly. Don't worry if your car overheats a little bit when you first drive. If you take the car on the highway, the increased water pressure will help that thermostat get used to opening and closing.)

SOURCE: where is the thermostat located for 2005 chevy

Follow the top radiator hose to the engine. You will find the thermostat Housing you will need to take it off and then you will find the thermostat.

Go to any Advance or Autozone Store and buy the Chiltons Manual for your vehicle. They are around 19.99 and this will have every repair that you will ever need to repair anything on your car. I love theses books. They have pictures and step by step instructions. Hope this helps.

How to change thermostat

If you don't know there the thermostat is, follow top raditor hose to engine. There a housing there. Remove the 2 bolts. Watch the way you remove and install the same way. Should be diagram on the box if you forget. Do it when cold so don't burn.

Replace thermostat

You'll love this job!

The thermostat is behind the housing that is bolted to the lower intake manifold that the upper hose is attached to. With a little creativity you can pull this housing without pulling anything else. It does make it a little easier to pull the throttle body so that you have some more room to see and for fingers. you will need a 13mm socket, a swivel, a couple of extensions, maybe a 10mm socket, and a 13mm wrench.
