Question about Cars & Trucks
Need a new starter & where is it located on this specific engine
On the passenger side (right side) just behind the engine mount. It bolts up to the transmission bell housing at the right rear of the engine block.

Testimonial: "Thank you! The auto parts stores were saying there is two solenoids, there is on earlier models and I've searched for the second and it doesn't exist. So I pulled the starter & installing a new. Thanks to you! Bradley "

If it has RWAL only, the sensor is in the rear end. If it is ABS brakes, there are speed sensors on the front wheels as well. If there is in fact a speed sensor in the tranny, it is most likely internal.

WELL THIS CAN BE QUITE A JOB. FIRST OF ALL DISCONNECT BATTERY. YOU CAN EITHER REMOVE FRONT DRIVELINE AND DIFFERENTIAL WITH HALFSHAFT,STEERING RACK AND COOLER IN FRONT OF RACK AND DISCONNECT BATTERY CABLE BRACKETS OFF FRONT OF ENGINE,DRAIN OIL AND MOVESTARTER OUT OF WAY AS WELL AS LOOSEN EXHAUST FROM BINDING UP. RAISE ENGINE UP OFF ENGINE MOUNTS. LOOSEN PAN DOWN AND REMOVE PUMP AND LET IF FALL IN PAN,WATCH OUT FOR PUMPSHAFT FALLING DOWN. REVERSE OPERATION AND MAKE SURE YOU PUMP IS LINED BACK UP WITH THE DRIVE OR NO OILPRESSURE. IT WILL BE TIGHT GUARANTEED. I THINK I AM MISSING A FEW THINGS HMM. THIS IS THE BASICS,NOT A CAKE JOB,ESPECIALLY ON THE GROUND.

Two bolts come out from the front and one from the rear. It is not necessary to disconnect the battery because the solenoid is way up on the fenderwell of the passenger side. P.S. you might want to check that too.
