Not good, you must have an exhaust leak or rot hole in the underbody, have the exhaust system checked, or start van apply ebrake and look at exhaust, listen for a leak, this will be a louder sound than normal and also look for any rot or rust openings, and last make sure tailpipe extends out from under rear of the van.

You have an exhaust leak. Probably in the rear exhaust manifold. You should get this fixed right away as it could lead to Carbon Monoxide poisoning which could cause *****.

87 ranger 2.9 when turning over it wont fire there is spark goin to spark plugs but intead of blue spark its yellow an there is a clicking sound comin fro Distributor cap or its in that general area

Now you in my specialty. Take the distributor cap off, look to see if ther is a white corbon build up on the prongs sticking down inside the cap.If son, take a small screw driver and scrape it off. Check the black carbon button sticking down inside the cap, make sure when you push on it, it has some spring to it, When you push it in, it should pop right back out. Now scrape the end of the rotery button, carbon build up there also.Make sure the cap is clean on the inside before reinstalling it. I had some one prank me once by taking a pencil and drawing a line down the in side of the cap, shorting it out so my car wouldnt start. Bad prank. Now once the cap is back on, check that the wires are all tightly fitted down into the top. Make sure they are in the same order they came off, If your unsure, get out you Haines manual and it will tell you the firing order that they go in.Most Ford caps will have a 1 stamped in the cap for the number one plug. Check the coil wire to see if it is cut, if not make sure it is seated into the cap like the plug wires. Be absolutely sure the cap is not cracked down the side when you install it by pulling out on it while it is upside down, If it is cracked it will open up or break apart. Also check the plugwire are on the plug securely. I hope these suggestions help you find you problem.

2004 Chevy Trailblazer V6, sounds like it is loosing pressure. Can smell exhaust inside vehicle and under hood.

A Carbon Monoxide tester for homes may be used inside your vehicle. This will verify your concerns about the fumes inside your vehicle.

If you hear something while the engine is running, you may have an exhaust leak. This is something a Muffler shop can check. I don't know about recommending a business as I probably do not live in your area.

Our site use to have affiliations with Repair shops and if you can go to an Online Expert's Repair shop you should get an honest repair.

Word of mouth advertising should get you to a good place. For an exhaust smell, since carbon monoxide is odorless, a sulfur smell would indicate problems in the Catalytic converter area. Or if your vehicle is burning a little oil, there would be a detectable odor.

Wish I could say it is an exhaust tube or O2 fitting leaking and solve your problem. Best I can say is protect yourself with a Carbon monoxide detector and have your vehicle visibly checked.

Please rate my info.

Carbon monoxide

This is a toxic gas producted by the burning of gasoline, if the level in the exhaust is really high you may have engine problems.

VAN SOUNDS LIKE ITS TRYING TO START AFTER I SHUT IT OFF

this is what we call "dieseling"
it is the engine running WITHOUT spark plugs

This happens when you have leaking injectors and carbon build up in the engine (pistons/valves)

try shutting off the engine while in park
keep your foot on the brake because you might find the engine has enough power to actually move the van

keep us posted

I'm getting lite-headed while driving the car

catalytic converter, this is common when they go bad, you don't smell any hing or hear any thing, but it is pushing the fumes back thru the exhaust and into the car.

your best bet is to take it into an exhaust shop not just a regular shop.

Did you make sure there is no holes or rust in the tail pipe?
