I would have the battery tested , the door locks do not use alot of voltage, they may work with a dead battery. you say there are no dash lights or anything else that works except doorlocks. check battery and terminals, then connect jumper cables and see if you get power then if you do then its the battery, if you still have no power then check your underhood fuses, there may be a bad fuse or connection at battery terminal.

Yes but not sure about this car though ,look on top of the + bettery terminal and see if their is more than one wire that should be attached as it could two or three cables taking power from this point and its corroded through then if only one wire follow it as the power take off could be on the starter motor and one has broke off from here ,please take note iam not a mitsubishi dealer fitter but a rather old and ancient fleet fitter so i look for the problem first i do not have product knowledge of every make of vehicle ever made so i look then apply my experiance as to what the problem could be and yes even after 40 + years iam still leaning something new every day

I having trouble shooting an ignition problem. The battery has power and the car is receiving power but the engine won't turn over. Is there a way I can get my car to start?

Is it a manual or automatic? When you say "won't turn over" does that mean that absolutely nothing happens when you turn the key? Or does it only click? Or does it crank but won't fire? If it is a manual and nothing happens when turning the key, it could be the clutch safety switch is faulty.

When turn key nothing happens

check connection and wires at battery for damage or corrosion if good check for power to ignition switch if no power check for damaged or shorted wiring if good turn key and check if power going to relays or accessory's at fuse panel if no power switch may be bad

My VW golf TDi won't start since I changed my battery. It started fine for three days and now there is absolutely nothing there when I turn the key not even a click. Please help

1. Do all lights, accessories, central locking system etc in the car all operate normally.

2. Have you tested to see if the car starts when you try jump starting from another vehicle.

3. What warning lights were displaying on the vehicle a day or 2 before you had the problem.

4. Were you having the same starting problems with the old battery that you have just replaced.

My 2004 pontiac grand prix gt wont start when i went to turn it on this morning to go to work nothing happened it just made a clicking noice. The guy at pep boys said that the battery was good. when i try...

if you turn headlights on and turn key to start do you hear clicking? if so starter is possibly bad, lets trouble shoot your problem.suggest you check the fuses under hood in black box, make sure those are good. when you turn the key, you should hear at least a click or else the starter is not drawing current.try turning the headlights on and at same time turn the key and try to start, if lights go dim the starter is drawing current, does it click? if so then bad starter. if no noise at all,,still could be a bad starter.suggest that you remove the starter and have it checked out.also make sure the car is in park for sure before you do any of this. hope this helps!!

Starter issues

I would first verify battery power, Once you have proper power there, either via a good trickle charger or battery replacement, I would check the fuseable links mounted right at the "hot" side of the starter. Just follow the 4 gauge wire from the battery to the 15mm/13mm nut on the starter. Make sure you have power to both sides of the wire with a test light. THis is the only wire that supplies the power for the relay fuse box. So either your not making power, or the power isn't reaching this box. Let me know how you make out.
