You must buy a special kit and install a electronic speed sensor for the kit into the transmission. Google Ford C6 OD kit"

SOURCE: 1989 bronco II, 2.9 V6 automatic transmission

My ATSG manual says to tighten the adjusting screw in to 10ft-lbs, then back it out exactly 2 turns. Holding the screw, tighten the lock nut to 35-45ft-lbs. The intermediate band is set the same way.

SOURCE: Transmission stuck in overdrive on a 1988 Ford

Sounds like a gear lockup, two choices take transmission out and find someone to rebuild it or would have to go to salvage yard and find another one. a new rebuild is approx 1,300.00 or salvage yard is approx 300.00..

Which fuse controls the radio, speedometer, and also, what would cause the transmission to shift really hard,in a 1993 Ford Bronco?

Transmission problems are nortorious on the Broncos one state change to the E 40 d transmission. I myself converted mine to an old style c6 transmission in my 93 Eddie Bauer and I have never been happier.

Before I changed my ATF, my transmission disengaged after 20 to 25 minutes. From the new ATF that I bought from a nearby auto supply, it works but at overdrive position it still disengage. So I am using...

You can check it by hooking it up to a computer. To me( I'm not any expert with Mitsubishi cars), it could be a relay(fuse) for the overdrive or the solenoid is bad. ATF fluid comes in 2 grades(Ford being different). There is really no difference in the ATF fluid you bought at the auto parts store and the dealership except in the price. The overdrive is electronically controlled by the switch to the solenoid, to the transmission. Check your manual to see if it could be the relay(fuse) first. I hope this helps

My transmission only shifts twice in overdrive in my 1998 vw bug why

sounds like you have electrical malfunction on your transmission. I suggest you go to Advance Auto or Autozone and borrow their DTC scan tool and hook up to your car and get the code. It will tell you what's up with it.

1988 ford van 6 cyl, is it a c6 transmission?

Hello tbone.
There were only two transmissions available in the E150 in 1988.
If your van is a 3 speed it is a c6.
But if an overdrive it is an AOD 4 speed.
Hope this helps you out.
