Modern car and light truck engines do not require any "Break" in period. This has been the case for decades.

Key is locked in ignition, no power, dead?

It could very well be that the battery is dead. Did it just stop working? Usually there is an indication that the battery may be dying. When you open your car door, the interior light does not come on?

The key will not turn to start the car. the steering wheel is locked but the key will not turn even though I turn the wheel slightly.

Are you sure the battery is not dead? It's possible for ignitions to become locked when the battery is very dead and not simply near-dead.
Try testing by attempting to turn on your head lights.

Try jumping the battery if this is the case. You will most likely need to get a new battery, but this should work for the time being.
hope this helped...

Battery dead, key stuck in ignition.

I have had the same problem with my daughter's car. She inadvertnetly left the key in the on position and the battery went dead. Apparently an electrical current is neded to withdraw the key. I put a battery charger on the car for several hours and everything worked fine after that.

Keys stuck in ignition tires not locked it is in

Is the battery dead or disconnected? I've had that problem in another Chevy. With battery disconnected it would not return to the off position and allow me to remove the key.

Good luck!
