How do i change the oil pump on a 2000 lexus es300

Drain oil from the oil pan and recycle. Remove bolts holding oil pan up and remove oil pan. Remove bolt holding oil pump in. Install new pump. Replace oil pan gasket if necessary. Reinstall oil pan. Reinstall drain plug and refill with oil. Start engine and watch oil pressure gauge or light. Oil pressure should be normal almost instantly. Check for oil leaks.

What is wrong with my 2004 chevolet malibu, its leaking oil tremendously

If this has the v6, it's probably the intake manifold gaskets. This is a super common problem with these. You end getting oil in the cooling system and anti-freeze in the oil, they also leak externally when this happens. I would get it looked at/repaired asap or severe engine damage will result. I've had to replace quite a few over the years.

Had new distributor put 3 days ago , 200 miles , had a slight tick sound so was watching oil carefully, noticed was leaking worse than before, so I changed the oil to put new filter on, drove 4 moles...

  • Hi, for oil to leak that fast you have got a massive leak. The ticking itself could be from low oil. First check the oil plug (where you drain the oil) on the oil pan with will be the bottom most part of the engine. It is possible the plug is not holding tight, the gasket may be old, torn or just plain missing. Sometimes people will strip them oil plugs. When this happens the pan has to be tapped a little over and a new, slightly oil plug installed.

  • On the oil filter housing are oil cooler line that have to hold a lot of pressure. Follow those lines to see if they are leaking oil.

  • I don't see a front seal leaking leaking quite that bad. A valve cover I am not sure would leak quite like that either. Your oil pan gasket could leak like this though. When you check the oil pan plug look strait up to all them little bolt holding the oil pan to the lower part of the engine. If leaking is noted then snug them bolts up or have them snugged up.

  • You may have to throw a piece of cardboard on the ground and crawl underneath with a flashlight and get a better eyeball on the leak. What ever the leak it is massive and should be repaired before driving or you could loose to much oil and seize your engine. The ticking. in my opinion, is the engine telling you it is very low on oil as it is.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

I have oil around the area where my drain plug is but it istn coming from the drain plug and there isnt alot just a bit whats up with my truck?! I hope yall can help.

Could be the gasket for the whole oil pan that's leaking. That would let oil run down the oil pan, to where the drain plug is.

Changed spark plug wires and plugs found oil in both

The oil is probably leaking into the spark plug wells from the seals at the bottom of the pipes that constitute the wells. The wells may pull out with the plugs removed and have a seal at the top, but the bottom of the pipes may have been damaged if they are held in place by the plugs. Another method is to hold the pipes in place in the head with 'o' ring seals and these may have developed a leak, allowing oil from the tappet cover to get into the plug well.

2003 Beetle 2.0 has oil leak.Leaving oil on ground.Appears to be dripping off oil pan drain plug,Plug is tight.Any idea of what is above plug area that might be leaking.Oil filter is tight and not leaking

the plug is the lowest part, so any leak above it will end up at the plug, so make sure it has a good gasket at the plug. you may need to get some "brake cleaner" and clean any oil off, and then run the car and determine where the leak is originating from.

My car was just given an oil change and now it is leaking oil from the drain plug. How do I fix this?

Hi it sounds to me like who ever did the service never replaced the copper washer on the drain plug, this copper washer compresses and makes a seal preventing any leaks so they should be replaced after every service.

you have 2 options the first would be to try tightening it up slightly to see if that will seal it again.

failing that your going to need to drain the oil out and get a new copper washer and refit the drain plug and put the oil back in

how ever if you had the service done at a garage then i would take it back to them and say you never had an oil leak before and just ask them if the copper washer was replaced and if so can they tighten it up as its leaking every where.

they will do this for you and wont charge you as this is their fault

let me know if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

1997 blazer 4.3 i pulled the radiator how can pressure test to see if the motor oil cooler is bad in it

Just plug one port on the engine oil cooler, and use a hand vacuum pump to put the cooler under vacuum, see if it holds, if the vacuum leaks out you hahe a leak. In the event you do not have/ can not get a vacuum pump, you can plug one port on the cooler, and put about 15 psi of compressed air in it, submerge the entire radiator in water, with the cap and hose ports open if you see any bubbles the cooler is leaking.
