The "engine light" can be caused by something as simple as a loose gas cap. If you're near an Autozone they can use a scan tool to check for trouble codes and they'll do this for free.

How to reset the oilchange reset buttom on an avalon limitted 2008

On a 2010 this is how you reset the maintenance due light. Turn the ignition switch to the on position to make sure it is showing odometer not trip (A) or (B) then turn ignition switch off. Hold the odometer button in while turning the ignition switch back to the on position (do not start the engine) and continue to hold until the odometer shows all zero's..oooooo then the maintenance due light should go off when the engine is started.

It will not shift out of first gear. Service engine soon light is on. Reverse works fine and so does first gear, just will not shift after moving.

Hi!

The Service Engine light need to be check for codes, Because i think you have a shifting problem that might be coming from the shift solenoid. And I would check the transmission fluid level first to see because this can also cause shifting problems due to low fluid and lack of pressure. And for the Service engine light, I think you can go to any autoparts store near you and ask them to scan it for you, Its free. Good luck

Your Toyota Tacoma has to be manually reset after an oilchange. To reset your check engine light do the following:
place key in egnition
press and hold your odometer button in
Turn your key to the on position
(-----------) Lines like this will appear where your milage reads
Onces all the lines dissapear release the odometer button, and start truck
Your Light Should Go Off!!

Engine locked up wondering if there are any defects known for a jeep grand cherokee laredo 2000 4.0l engine. Wondering if debris buildup at #3 cylinder location could cause this to happen? if not what?...

you can check the crysler website for any recall
debris on the outside of the cyl. won't do it but
before you sign the death certificate you can
try turning the engine back + forth with 1/2" or
3/4" drive socket + breaker bar and try to see
or hear where it has bound up also remove the
belt I've seen frozen a/c compreser or ps pump
give the same symtems hope this helps
good luck

F150 won't start

Sounds like the dreaded 'hydrolic lock' that is a common problem with the v6, caused by a leaking head or intake man. gasket. Check coolant level - if down, it's sucking fluid.
