07 versa hatchback trunk wont open. What can i do?

The tailgate will have to be opened from the inside after removing the interior trim - often a difficult task causing the near-destruction of the trim panel.

Once there is access a mechanical lock with a linkage can be manipulated to open the tailgate but in the case of an electrical release you will need to disconnect the lock and supply a voltage to the contacts and hope...
If it doesn't open life gets really difficult.

How does the 1999 Tahoe tailgate open?

The right side can be unlocked with the key, once opened, the left side can be opened. Mine, the left side requires me to push in slightly while ensuring the release handle is pulled to it's furthest point before it will unlatch. If the electrical contacts at the door frame are dirty, the door may not unlock when pushing the button up front thus requiring the key to be used in the rear door. If this is not the solution, the latch rods inside the door need adjusted which requires some mechanical expertise.

Trunk on my malibu keeps clicking to open with no one around or touching anything. what to do

Step 1:

The year of your Malibu should not matter.

Step 2:

Locate the electrical fuse panel inside the passenger compartment. It should be located behind a plastic panel (kick panel) to the left of the drivers feet or to the right of the front passengers feet.

Step 3:

If you have your cars factory Owners Manual, it can assist you in locating the fuse panel. Once you have located the fuse panel and have removed the plastic cover, read the sticker that is attached to the back of the fuse panel cover. It should show you which fuse is associated with the trunk lock or trunk latch.

Step 4:

If this fuse is found, remove the fuse and determine if the trunk latch has stopped clicking. If you can not find the responsible fuse, you can do the following-

Step 5:

You can pull one fuse at a time until you find the one for the trunk latch (remember, a fuse often is responsible for more than one circuit), or

Step 6:

You can locate the back side of the in-cabin trunk switch, disconnect the connector that attaches to the switch and see if that stops the involuntary activation of the switch. If it does stop, you can safely conclude that the switch that you push to open the trunk will need to be replaced.

Step 7:

Locked keys in trunk. Triple A unlocked car, and the alam went off. The interior latch will not open the trunk. How do I get the trunk open?

Sometimes a drop in battery voltage may cause this. I would assume this is a Cayene. Let me know if this is another model.

You would need to retrieve the car keys or the extra one for this.

You need then to unlock the driver's door with the ky. Switch on the ignition to prevent the alarm from going off. On the instrument display, check the 'tailgate' function is activated (Check also 'tailgate' chapter on your manual on p119). If not have it activated and you should be able to open it using the central lock.

2006 Porsche cayenne trunk will not open.

Emergency operation of rear lid
If the rear lid cannot be opened with the radio
remote control (e.g., if the battery of the remote
control is dead), the emergency operation must
be performed:
1. Unlock and open the driver's door with the
vehicle key.
2. Switch on the ignition so that the alarm system
will not be triggered.
3. Check if the TAILGATE function is activated in
the multi-purpose display of the instrument
panel.
Please observe the chapter “TAILGATE” on
Page 119.
4. Press the central locking button in the armrest.
The rear lid is now unlocked and can be opened
with the unlocking handle
