Hi jason
The easiest place to find the VIN on your vehicle is right on the lower left corner of your dashboard. You should be able to read the number by looking through your windshield on the driver's side of your car. Check the driver's side door. The VIN might also belocated in the driver's side doorjamb or on the doorpost.
We do not have this make of car in the USA so have no info on this question. Sorry
SOURCE: car keeps loosing its power.
Hi there,
I have a VS ute also so am familiar with the car. If it is losing power it could be an electrical problem to do with the computer. On the dash panel there is an engine light - does it come on? If so that is a warning light which if you take it to a Mechanic with the right equipment will be able to tell you exactly what it is. It could be the ignition coil. If the car starts okay then just cuts out you will probably find it is the IAC in the throttle body. If you remove the Throttle body and clean it out with a cleaner from Supercheap Auto (for about $20) it should fix the problem. I had the same problem where it just died on trying to accelerate. I cleaned mine out with petrol and removed the two electrical components from the throttle body and cleaned them and made sure the tunnels to them were clean also. Luckily with mine I run on Duel Fuel so managed to get by on LPG when it played up on Petrol. Hope I have helped you - let me know how you go..
regards
Bryan

The VIN is located on the top surface of the right front frame rail. this should be stamped in so it wouldn't fall off....hope this helps
