Question about 1999 Ford Escort
So stumped on my silly car. Left blinker is having a problem. When it is turned on, ALL the rear lights flash fast. Changed bulb, checked fuses and relays. Do not believe it is the turn signal switch. One of the two left blinkers work. Can not see where a short might be. Any suggestions?
Sounds like you have a ground issue.
With the left blinker on check for power on the black wire. If there is power than the ground is bad on that wire. You will need to trace it to its grounding point making sure there is no corrosion in the wire, the wire is not broken, and the ground is clean.
If that checks out you may have a bad socket. I think the sockets on these plug into the harness. You can try swapping the socket to the other side and see if the problem follows.
