SOURCE: cost of valve job?

Depends on where you go to. Call around and ask. I just came from a parts store a few hours ago and asked about a head job...resurfacing and cleaning/inspecting...$138 for BOTH heads...Chevy 350. It shouldn't cost that much at all for you...unless you are looking to get a valve job at the same time. They should call you to let you know after the before-mentioned if you need a grind job. around. And, it should only take a day to get this done. I know taking in a bare head is about $25 to get it hot tanked.

SOURCE: Need firing order diagram 1985 F150 inline six

Easyer to explain then it is to get a diagram. Standing facing your truck cylinders are numbered 1 to 6. The front most cylinder being one and the back one closest to the cab is 6. The blackened terminal on the distributor cap indicates the number one spark plug wire position. In clockwise order from the blackened terminal firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4.

HEI in a pre 1962, 235 c.i inline six

You don't have to spend 200.00 and up on a distributor for your pre-1962 235 in-line six.All you have to do is find a donner 1975-1980 six cylinder HEI distributor.Once you get your hands on one you can't just put it in and think your engine will be fine. The oil pump drive or end of the distributor is too short to engage the pump and will not pump oil into the gallies. So you must remove end by driving out roll pin and running 4 to 5 weld beads to make the shaft longer, a min. of 3/16 in.Then re-shape and chamfer end as needed. You should be able to find a suitable distributor at your local junkyard or check online. As long as you have the space for the bigger cap, you will notice a differance in idle and perrfomance.

1989 ciera orange wire going to the oil pressure switch was accidently grounded. Will turn over backfire but not start . Fuel pump won't power up. No power to fuel pump relay. Took relay apart manually...

You didn't post an engine size but you are correct in thinking there is a fusible link that blew when you grounded the orange wire but there is also an inline fuse that protects the oil pressure switch and the fuel pump relay. It is usually located on the firewall.

You can check the fusible links near the starter for continuity. If one of them is burnt up start there by replacing it. If none of them are bad you will need to find the inline fuse. At least the 3.3 liter engine is set up this way.
