Mine did this....likely needs a new fuel filter...it is under the car above the rear axle....requires a special tool that you can buy at parts store ...ask the counter guy. Also will likely need to clean the throttle body intake. Take the hose off where the air intake goes into the engine. If is is black and has carbon deposits, spray with carb cleaner (with engine off) and carefully clean the body and the butterfly with a small brush or a toothbrush. Let it air dry out a few minutes and put back together. Engine should start and will smoke for a second or two, but will quickly clear up. That fixed mine.

Hard to start, dies, missing out, hesitation, low rpm take off missing out

Fuel filter clogged, weak or faulty fuel pump. Have fuel pressure checked, if its ok, then check igniton coil or module.

Just turns off on it's own, Wait 60 sec. restart press pedel it dies.

This engine is electronically controlled so the first thing that must be done here is to have the systems control computer tested for fault codes and then do the proper diagnostics based on those codes.

When accelerator is pressed down the engine stuters until use ease off the pedel. can only use 1/4 to 1/2 throttle.

The most common problem for this is the fuel filter or dirty spark plugs. If it is the plugs you would have a slight miss when idleing or be able to smell gas fumes from exhaust. Also your gas mileage would go down. The fuel filter will cause the vehicle to feel like it will stall and die when you try to accelerate or raise the rpm's in idle. I hope this helps. If you try both and it does not help try pulling the trouble codes and having them checked.

TRUCK DIED WHILE DRIVING

If you felt a loss of power, you had to press on the gas harder before it died, you may want to check on the fuel filter.  Otherwise you may want to check on the fast idle valve or pcv if it needs cleaning, or vacuum hoses if they have leaks which may be the cause of the rough idle if its an EFI engine.

Could be head gasket or piston rings. Piston ring issues will smoke under load or when revving the engine.

Do a compression test.
