The fuel pump or the sparkplugs or both, check it out.

Could be in need of a tune up... carb and timming adjustment. New plugs, wires, rotor, dist cap.Tune ups are needed on a regular basis ussualy once a year depending on the amount of miles you put on the car? The charging system sounds o.k but tune up may be in order
or
Timing is way off specs, or plug wires hooked up incorrectly. I would suspect the latter.
Firing order 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8
or also
if vacuum leak

What will cause it to steadly pop pop pop throu carb like small backfire

There are many reasons that a vehicle will backfire through the carburetor. What determines the cause depends on what condition the backfire happens. Is it a steady backfire at idle or does it start when you are accelerating ? Do you live in a wet climate or dry? Has the engine been wet?
Backfiring is caused when the exhaust valve is open during the firing or compression stroke of a certain cylinder. For example, a broken spring will not close the valve completely. A bad camshaft lobe will cause a back fire, if you have a distributor that got wet the spark could cross over to another area wire and cause the problem causing a missfire. If the wires were put on wrong after putting in plugs it will cause a missfire.

Lost power then came to stop then backfired.restarts for only few seconds then backfires at intake

Did you change the distributor? Could have put it back in the wrong direction or forward too much on the timing notch or put too plug wires on the wrong post..... It definitely sounds like a timing issue and the back fire sounds like the plug is firing the cylinder on the intake stroke.... if you keep at it you will blow your muffler off or start a fire. Look up the firing sequence for your year and make of car to be sure

Backfire

one of the cylinders is missing. It doesn't fire sometimes and when it does, you get the backfire. Check the plugs. It should be obvious which cylinder is at fault.

4 brl rochester carb

Backfiring is caused by either the firing order being incorrect or the engine timing is incorrect. generally backfiring through the carburetor is caused by incorrect firing order. confirm the distributor is inserted properly and double check firing order beginning with cylinder number 1.

Cranks backfires

That could be a timing issues when it back fires
Why ,no idea, not a question you can guess at as we do here
Could also be a vacuum leak & lean fuel mix
When you say cranks the motor turns over nothing else
Cranking has nothing to do with the motor starting or running
You have a no start & back fire as I gather

Back fire, now misses

what year ?
backfires from an EFI engine are not good signs (ussually means timming issue).
Carburated engines on the other hand are more likely to backfire when left sitting for long preiods.

WONT START AND TRIES TO TURN OVER BUT BACK FIRES

AWESOME a real camaro problem.
backfire.
strong odor of gas because the gas isn't getting burned
caused from backfire. backfiring because the spark isnt sparking when its supposed to.
problems could be bad spark plug wires , bad plugs , bad ignition parts.
your gonna need to check wires for bad spots, check ignition coils and stuff like that. if all that stuff is ok, then your problems have to do with inside the engine. jumped time etc.
