Check that the alternator belt is well in tension, there is a tensioner, is the arm that move the pulley, you may need to use a rubber hammer to put it well in tension.
Check also the alternator wirings and the connectors.

Battery light keeps coming on even though the battery is fully charged in my 97 ford falcon wagon

Hi Tracey I'm just trying to make sure your battery has not gone dead at all and the battery/charging light stays on right if this is the case there are two plugs on top of your altenator the smaller one is the connection for the battery light it maybe loose and not making contact which it will make the light stay on try to wedge a rolled up match book cover in with the plug and see if it go's out if so try to get a dude with brains to fix the inside metal connector to fit tighter on the pin don't use dielectric grease it's not conductive and will make it worse get the plug to fit tight and if you have to leave the match book cover or whatever you used to keep it that way

Battery charging system light is on but system is charging

have the alternator bench tested as it may have a faulty rectifier pack in it
charge lights basically work by when not running the current flows from the battery to the alternator through the light
when the alternator starts to charge it puts a reverse current back through the light in opposition to the battery and so the light goes out
if the light stays on then that means that the current from the alternator is alternating and the battery is keeping it on.

Battery light stays on after changing battery, alternater & plugin.

Is the system charging? You should have 14.2 14.6 volts at the battery. The charge light is controlled by the alternator internally. If the charging system is working, you could have a bad diode inside the alternator keeping the light on or a short/grounded circuit to the battery light

My tail lights stay on and it drains the battery found out the hard way came out of class and it was dead took a while to charge from a jump and then when i got home noticed after i shut it off the tail...

if you look above the break petal under the dash you will see a little switch attached to the petal. on most cars the switch is adjustable by pulling the pin out of the switch a bit and then putting it back in and pressing the break petal to re calibrate it. if that dosent work it may just be broken and needs replacement. also look around the break petal area under the dash and make sure nothing is keeping the petal from coming all the way back up

I have a 1998 ford escort zx2. the battery keeps going dead overnight. i have replaced the battery and checked alternator output (13.6v 35 amp. what else can i check?

Make sure there are no lights staying on. Check the interior light, the trunk light, glove box etc. When it is shut off, pull your fuses one at a time and see if any of them spark, that shouldn't be, when you put it back in. If that all checks out, it will likely be your starter draining it and it will need to be replaced.
Take a battery cable off, and when you put it back on, it should spark a little bit when the key is off. If it sparks a lot, i would guess it would be the starter.

Battery keep going dead, has new battery

Have you checked to see if the alternator is charging ? Run a volt meter on the battery with the engine running, have to have more than 14 volts. If 13 or less, then replace the alt.
