starter is on the side of the engine where the transmission meets
just follow the positive battery cable, it's connected to the solenoid

check that you have 12 volts at the big post with the two wires.If you have voltage there then very carefully touch the big post to the little post with a steel rod or screwdriver. If your battery is good then this process will bypass the keyswitch. be careful because as soon as you touch the two post the engine will turn over. The little wire send a signal to the solenoid to engage the starter motor. check the voltage of the little wire dissconnected. when someone turns the key to the start position the little wire should get 12 volts.
