SOURCE: What is wiring diagram of 1990 Chevy suburban

check that you have 12 volts at the big post with the two wires. If you have voltage there then very carefully touch the big post to the little post with a steel rod or screwdriver. If your battery is good then this process will bypass the keyswitch. be careful because as soon as you touch the two post the engine will turn over. The little wire send a signal to the solenoid to engage the starter motor. check the voltage of the little wire dissconnected. when someone turns the key to the start position the little wire should get 12 volts.

Starter staying engaged 94 150 ford pickup 300 6cylinder

Solenoid contacts are stuck in contact, not releasing and keeping current on the starter motor in the engaged position. Try turning off the engine, and tapping the starter motor soleniod with a piece of wood or soft hammer.

Where is the starter solenoid located in a 94 ford taurus?

the starter soleniod is on the starter, if you look under the front of the car at the motor wher it meets the trany you will see the starter, its best to replace the complete unit, this is not like older fords where there was a soleniod up on the wall and starter on the motor, this is all on one unit, heres a diagram pictur to help you , hope the info helps , good luck.johnjohn2_16.jpg

Battery is good but starter is not kicking when the ignition key is turn on. How can I repair the starter? If repairable, what do I need to change? I apppreciate any assistance. Jaime

could be something as simple as a solenoid for your starter it allows power to pass thru to the starter
pull out starter and connect power from batery to starter (bypass solenoid) if starter turns then replace solenoid

How do you take the starter out of a 1993 toyota four runner

The steps are given below:

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect positive battery cable at the starter.
2. Disconnect remaining electrical connections at the starter soleniod.
3. Remove the nuts and or bolts holding the starterr to the bell housing and pull the starter towards the front of the vehicle.

Intallation in reverse, but make sure that the starter drive teeth are engaged with the flywheel teeth... You will have a very tight space in this job and you might need to modify some wrenches to do the job easier...

Starter just clicks, battery hot, when turning key some times the starter will work. i suspect starter solenoid?

Yes your right its the soleniod, might need the wires cleaning up that connect to the starter motor sometimes they go rusty so the connection is not good enough, worth cleaning before you replace it.

No power to starter soleniod from ignition

As the ignition switch provides the low current power for the starter solenoid you need to hook a 12v tester up and trace the wiring backwards after checking for blown fuses

Will the starter solenoid activate if you hot wire it to the battery ?

MOTOR OPERTAES WITHOUT KEY

your starter, solenoid or ignition is no good. but my first choice,i think your solenoid is shorted because when you hook up the battery,it cranks but does not start.that means your ignition switch is still working.
