Question about Renault 181
What do i have to do to replace a crankshaft sensor in 2003 lincoln town car
Posted by Anonymous on
The crank position sensor on this car is near crankshaft pulley and you have to take acces drive belt off and loosen the ac compressor in order to have room to wiggle it out. Will not clear the ac compressor unless you do this.

First of all you have to remove the Instrument cluster finish panel.
Position the shifter lever in the 1st gear position.
NOTE: Ignition switch must be in OFF position if disconnecting the passenger airbag deactivation (PAD) indicator electrical connector. Otherwise, a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will be set in the restraints control module (RCM) memory and must be erased before releasing the vehicle.
Position the ignition switch in the OFF position.
Position the steering column to the full down position.
Remove the 2 instrument cluster finish panel screws over the speedometer.
Release the retainers by pulling the bezel out working your way around it then disconnect the electrical connectors and position the instrument cluster finish panel aside.
Then remove the 2 screws in the clock and remove it.
Then remove the 4 screws in the audio unit and remove it.
