Hi! As for the "weird" noise the gentleman could be correct. It could be a bad motor mount. As for the part where your car will not start sometimes, and others it will, I would suggest looking into getting the cam shaft sensor replaced.. The number 1 sign of a cam shaft sensor gone bad is the car starting when it is cold, but when the engine warms up and the metal contacts within the sensor heat up and expand and no longer complete a circuit to send the signal back to the cars on board computer the car will either shut off while driving or not start once you shut the vehicle off until the motor cools again and the contacts touch again. Not saying this is your problem but almost certain that it very well could be..

Sounds like you have a bad motor mount, how to check is open the hood and push the car back while watching to see if the motor moves, if it does, then you have bad motor mounts.....

Takes hour to start why

Try this-- The next time you start the car, hold the pedal down to the floor. If it starts, Then you have a flooding problem. hold it there for 30 seconds. Then while still holding the pedal to the floor, try to start the car. Hard to say on pc. If above does not work, see or call saturn dealer to see if anyone else is having the same problem. Good-Day!

2002 Saturn SL2 was working fine an hour previous to the 'lock out'. I went to run another errand and it wouldn't start. Battery good, all lights, etc coming on. Wouldn't turn over. Anti-theft feature...

Your owners manual will tell you that the anti-theft can be turned off, but doesn't tell you how (dealer only?). If it is turning over but wont start, (trying to hit and outside temp is below 32) check the coolant temp sensor. Saturns notorious for cracked sensor sending false info to computer thus flooding engine.

92 SL1 Intermitant stalling problem

Fuel pump,Fuel pump, Fuel pump,,, high mile cars will always out live their fuel pump. The stalls will become more frequent. But first change fuel filter if it has one outside the fuel tank, if it has it in the tank just replace the pump at the same time. Also next time when it stalls bang the bottom of the tank with your hand and try starting.

1999 Saturn SL1 trouble starting when warm

It was the coolant temperature sensor. It was telling the car that the coolant was always cold, therefore when starting a warm engine it was being flooded. $$$
