After checking around, I decided to replace the harmonic balancer. I had a repair shop fix it for me and I think they over charged for the part. But, at least I'm on the road again. This Grand Am has 227,000 miles and still runs pretty good.

I don't know about the pulley but I CAN suggest a surpentime belt that has worked GREAT for me. It's available at most auto after markets, (Auto Zone, Oreilly's, Napa etc...) and is called a "Gator Belt". Stock belts are ribbed on the inside but the Gator Belt looks like an alligator's back on the inside. As a result, I've had one on for over four years without a problem.

the harmonic balancer is bad they have a rubber bushing in them which goes bad and sets them off the rest of the pullys you will have to replace the harmonic balancer and that should take car of the problem if you have any other questions feel fre to ask hope that info helps
