Question about 1993 Buick Park Avenue
My 94 did that. cmpletely electrically die. it was a loose nut on a thick red wire leading to a fuse box behind the a/c area. the box (under hood) connects to the battery and starter. careful of sparks when tightening.

Have your Catalytic Converter checked for free flow, (if it is stopped up with calcification from unspent fuel, then the car will have trouble moving at all). A tell tale sign of oncoming Catalytic Converter problems is the overdrive balking or wanting to hesitate, when the transmission is in overdrive the vehicle is running at its lowest r.p.m. and so like at idle it will stumble or hesitate, or cut the engine altogeter, for the motor has to be able to exhale, to exhaust its combustion gases, in order to run properly, stopped up catalytic converters are a big problem with this car.

Check the battery connections and the battery itself the battery must be charged and tested, clean the battery terminals charge the battery and try to start, if no luck take the battery to an auto parts store to have it tested for free replace battery if neccessary, always wear safety glasses when working near a battery. If the battery is good and connections are good replace the starter, but you may want to check the connections at the starter first before purchasing a starter there may be corrosion on the connections.

SOURCE: Buick utlra park ave has service engine light on and keeps stalling and evenutually completely cuts off Can restart but still runs rough then cuts off while in drive Has smell of rubber burning also
It could be the crankshaft sensor. That's what my 2000 was acting like until it was replaced.

most likely the crank position sensor...located by the flywheel...about $40. Ask for the location diagrahm at your parts store. Hope this helps.
