Is it the temperature control knob or the fan speed knob? the temperature control knob is hooked to a cable that operates a valve in the engine compartment. sounds like this is your trouble area...you can open the hood and locate the heater control valve near the firewall...have someone turn the knob to see if the valve lever opens/closes. if it does it is bad. if it does not move there is a problem in the dashboard behind the heater control unit.

Honda heater makes loud noise

ok well its possible there may be something stuck in the blower motor under the passenger side dash. ..or the blower motor itself could be on its way out, sometimes leaves or sticks from trees and even stove inside the glove box can find their way into the windshield cowling and into your blower motor..u can remove it to check by unplugging its white connector and remove the 8mm bolts that secure it into the heater core box..its very easy to remove..the 8mm bolts / screws should also have a phillips head on them...

Heating on 92"j" accord blowing cold

The temperature control knob does control a cable, the valve is in a heater hose low on the passenger side of the firewall in the engine compartment. Check to make sure the cable is still over the pin on the valve and make sure the cable jacket is still clamped to the valve bracket. Also, pull the knob off the stem and make sure it isn't cracked such that it won't turn the metal stem sticking out of the dash. If all that is OK, check the cable by turning the knob all the way to cold, note the location of the lever on the valve, then turn the knob all the way to hot and see if the lever moved. Sorry, not sure how involved it is to change the cable.

You may have a clogged heater core, leaking heating cores still provide heat.

Air causes noise beneath glove box

most likely there is a mouse in the blower motor or a nest very common you would have to remove that. if that is the case i suggest putting bounce laundry sheets under your engine compartment and gurenteed to keep the mice away!! keep them away from extreme hot parts and belts.
