SOURCE: heating problem
There are 2 seperate little electric switches on back of the heater panel,when you slide the temp. lever it send a signal and switch rotates turning a rod that moves the heater door open or closed.Just went thru this with mine part is $53 and 1 hr. garage time to change.Works fine now.

Hello, This is because your actuator door in the dash board is broken. its about $1000 to fix. Its a bad design flaw that Jeep used in their dual climate control. Many many many jeep owners have had this problem.

If the heat control system is operated by small vacuum hoses, check the hoses under the hood and under the dash at the heater control. The hoses control "doors" or large air-valves which direct heated air. Sometimes the hoses break or become disconnected, and sometimes the doors get stuck.

there is a TSB on this problem,but since it is not a safety issue there will be no recall,here is the TSB number to call your dealer about,TSB 24-004-03.

An electronic motor controls the temp door. Swap right for left to confirm component failure. Actuate the passengers side and look for the moving actuator
