This is JAGUAR and as such is a princess of cars ,i have one the same a 94 XJ40 sovereign and never had a problem ,now their is a thermostat that puts the fan on ,one or two fans depending ,now i suggest that you drive with the AC on and see whats happens as this will give me a better idea as to teh problem here in your case ,as you drive then stop and upon restart it will run hot ,puzzle this and iam racking my brains to think of a answer ,but you havent stated the year as the models do change around 94 when a supercharger was fitted .First thoughts is either the electric switch or the relay ,hence need more info as earlier ones had a switch in the radiator ,the relay is in the power distribution box but later ones are electronic controled .Look on the official jaguar web site www.jec.org and see if anything exists on their but to help further i would need to know the year ,sorry for not being much help

1998 Chevrolet Cavalier 2.4L losing coolant quickly

Stop Leak--can't get that out & it will plug the heater core
& other things --- bad move.

Why are you driving a car with any coolant leaks?

You may have ruined the motor by now

We can't find your leak from the internet or guess where it is

Monte carlo blows cold air and overheats

It really runs hot within a minute of starting ?
An engine that runs hot in a few minutes is often having problems with the water pump or a blockage in the cooling system. The thermostat does not open until 195 degrees which takes 5 or 10 miles of driving.
During that time, the water pump should be circulating coolant in the block and the heater hoses.
A leaking head gasket should be putting extra pressure into the cooling system, and-or dumping coolant into the cylinders which would come out the exhaust pipe. But it should still take a few minutes for the engine to reach the boiling point of 240 degrees.

Overheating transmission

The over heating may be from a defective sensor which reads it is hot but it really isn't or it is hot and the transmission has excessive slippage which causing overheating of the fluid very quickly. Any ****** shop that knows what they are doing and just doesn't plug in parts can find the cause of the problem.

trash in front of radiator - collapsing lower hose - fans not coming on /if electric - if car has been run hot - engine head or head gasket could be problem also there could be an air pocket - bleed screw -if your car has one is located close to thermostat housing - small brass screw

1999 Chrysler 300M overheating

I am having the same prob. on 04 300m 83,000 mi. I am a chrysler tech and another tech at my shop had the same problem a week ago. Mine started when i Was on the thruway my guage crept up to 3/4 so i kicked the heat on and it went normal. After stopping I found the water pump went and was leaking bad. I replaced the waterpump timing belt and tensioner pulley. thought it was good untill on a long trip. Noticed temp goin up no leaks this time, coolant full. doesnt overheat with heater on. Actuated fans with DRB3 and both work and are working when car says its overheating. Replaced thermostat and bleed system. thought it was ok untill drove 35mi. suspecting bad wiring plugged radiator or coolant temp sensor. Still driving with heat on low to keep from overheating. any others fix this problem yet?
