SOURCE: how to fix heater core 1992 dodge spirit

Take my word for it, you don't want to fix it. Take it to your local radiator shop and have someone put a heater core in it for you. You will be way better off. I've done these before and it takes about 6- 8 hrs. The whole dash has to come out. The steering column has to be dropped. If I had one of those cars that needed a heater core, I would take it somewhere and have it done. Phil

It's a big job. Drain the coolant down, recover the freon in the ac system and disconnect the lines and heater hoses. Lower the steering column, remove the instrument panel assembly, remove the heater housing. Split the case halves on the housing and there you are. Usually around 500 to 700 dollars at a dealership.

Where is the heater control valve on a 2008 dodge charger? If its bad could it leak on the drivers side inside?

You don't have one. And no it wouldn't leak on the inside. Two possibilities for the leak. Heater core is leaking or the drain is plugged up.

How do you change the heater core on a 2008 Dodge Nitro

before you go to the trouble to do this have a pressure test done on the coolant system to positively check that it is the core and not just a loose hose or leaking tap. Water in the cab under the dash mat can also be from a blocked drain on the ac unit and the condensate over flows and runs under the carpet.

It's very likely that your heater core is clogged. Try flushing your cooling system and your heater core. That will likely resolve the issue.

2008 dodge nitro heater blowing air but not heated. How do I fix this?

Does the car heat up to operating temp. Sounds like a thermostat problem. Could even be the heater control switch. Could be the heater core.

Fog coming from deforst leaving greasy film on window

it sounds like your heater core is leaking. Check to see if your coolant level is low. A radiator pressure test will show a leak. coolant may be dripping down from the heater air box drain hose. Replacement of the heater core is expensive. you can bypass the heater core, to keep you on the road, by looping one of the heater hoses back to the engine....but you will have no heat.
