sounds almost like the newer vehicles equiped with cam sensors instead of the distributer system i had a similar problem with an 87 ford bronco 2 it would stall out right around 2800 rpm i replaced the control module usually mounted on the distributer at least mine was and it fixed it right up but as for ur truck im not sure they are only like 30 bucks at autozone or something worth a try right??

theres 3 things ur emisans fail on 1 spark plugs 2 air filters need changing 3fuil filter so yes a full service should do it change ur oil fuil filter air filter oil filter and oil

try this: With the parking brake set firmly, put the car in gear and keep one foot firmly on the brake while accelerating (you won't go anywhere...)
If the motor cuts out while this is attempted, replace your ignition/spark plug wires.
