The cam sensor reads the revolutions of the camshaft, they normally position it at the belt end at the top of the engine by the top sprocket (where the cam belt goes round)

Were is that camsensor located

Fred is correct when he says it on the left side kind of in the middle. In any case below is a picture that should help. I know the power steering pump does need to be removed/repositioned in order to replace but I have myself been able to replace it without having to remove the upper intake to do it. also if you're getting a trouble code of P0300, I would look into the crank position sensor first as that has more of a job as far as how the car is timed and misfires. hope this helps.....

I have a 98 chevy z71 5.7 350 vortec, i have a p1345 code that stays on i clear it and as i restart the truck it comes back on, the truck runs great and has a small delay when starrted.. what can/do i need...

1345 is cam and crank sensor correlation its mainly the cam sensor going out, also the delay start that also trigger a camsensor code they call it excessive crank time check the fuel pressure that is capable of setting a cam code (1345) If fuel pressure is good (55-60 psi) expect to replace the camsensor you might as well do the crank sensor heres a nightmare on this code it can set if the distributor is off one tooth and yes these distributor have high failure rate

Location of crank sensor on renault megane 1.6, 2004

bit confused...the cranksensor will be on the gearbox housing the camsensor will be near the cams not the gearbox if the camsensor has packed up it wont start but if it packs up while driving the engine will run untill you stop it then it wont start,a cranksensor could cause the engine to stop at anytime if it fails..your problem could be the idle air control valve or a timing related issue..
