Robe again I FIXED ALL PREVIOUS CODES BUT POOR ACCELERATION AND BOGGING DOWN COULD IT BE MAF SENSOR ORCAMSHAFT SYNCRONIZER. OR A BETTER FIX GIVE IT UP TO THE JUNKYARD.

Rather than spend money buying a new MAF try cleaning the old one with special cleaner - isopropyl alcohol
If you do a search on the net you should find a local electrical / computer store as they use it all the time to clean circuit boards etc.
Clean inside the MAF (the hot plate / wire) and the terminals.

The MAF sensor could do this as well as low fuel pressure, make sure the fuel pressure is at least 42 PSI and goes to about 50 when when you race the engine up for a second, the pressure should never drop. If the MAF is at fault disconnect it, the engine power will return as the computer substitutes a signal for the lost MAF signal, this is called "failure mode strategy"

Bogs down with little acceleration


run fault codes and look for accelerator position sensor and MAF/MAP problems. Have a pressure test done on the fuel manifold to check for pump, pressure regulator and filter problems.

I have a 00 pontiac grand prix gt and I dont know why my car hesitates when I am accelerating. Also I can feel and hear my engine bogging down like it wants to shut off esp when I am stopped or driving...


egr will only affect running at idle or slow speeds.under acceleration it can indicate poor tune-up components or even a partially plugged fuel filter not allowing enough fuel,or even a weak pump.a bad tps(throttle position sensor) can also act the same way,usually it will set a code,but not always.if it has a(maf) mass air flow sensor on this system it can cause the poor acceleration,again usually, but not always, will set a code in the computer.

92 corolla with VAF code 31 acts like MAF sensor is bad; car bogs when accelerated, stalls cold. But there is no MAF-I confirmed this with the dealer. What is malfunctioning?


Your corolla doesn't use a MAF sensor, it uses a MAP sensor

The map sensor is located on the Intake Manifold right by the throttle body. That could easily be causing the issue you're stating.

hi this might not be the MAF but the MAP sensor as this is the thing that normally gives you this sort of fault, the MAF adjusts the air and fuel mix but the MAP adjusts the air and fuel mix and also the timing via the ECM , normally if it is the MAF it will just idle rough and still run as normal, but jerky and bogs down but does not stall, so if anything i would opt for the MAP sensor first before the MAF...hope this helps

Cat is usually damaged from vehicle misfiring, Those codes you posted are a MAF, idle control, and 02 sensor codes. The MAF sensor could be reading incorectly causing the car to run rich or lean, and giving the 02 sensors bad readings, i would deffinetly look into the MASS Air Flow sensor, which is located on the intake tuping near the airbox

You can also try cleaning it with MAF sensor cleaner

Check your catalytic converter, good chance that it has broken apart and is blocking exhaust flow. Common Chevy 4.3L Issue.

check the voltage output on the o2 sensor and the wires and plugs.the air flow meter or the coolant temperature sensor could also be an issue.
