Make, model and year would help but most vehicles have a trans dip=stick located behind the motor, right up next to the firewall. Check when warm, use makers suggested type. Most trans have to be filled thru the dipstick tube. They make a long narrow funnel for this.

What type I need gearbox oil and how many liter I need pls advise

is this a manual or automatic. manual trans take 80/90 weight gear oil and you fill it to the bottom of the fill hole. the amount depends on if your topping it up or changing all the oil. most take about 4 litres. at any rate fill to bottom of fill hole. if automatic you can use Dexron trans fluid or Honda trans fluid. fill until the level is within the add and full marks on the dip stick.

How much gear oil does the transfer case on a 1999 jeep grand cherokee

You will need to buy three quarts but you won't use all of it. Make sure that you can open the fill plug BEFORE you drain it to avoid problems. After draining, replace the drain plug and fill with Dexron III or Dex/Mercon (both are automatic trans fluids). Fill on a level surface 'till the fluid reaches the bottom lip of the fill plug. For severe service, I always replace part of the trans fluid with Lucas trans conditioner.

1999xj8 problem transmision default

change trans filter and fluid before inst. new fluid warm a bottle of lucas slip stop in a bucket of hot water (helps it enter the tran and mixing with other fluid) and fill. be carful not to over fill ( check with engine running and check frequently after change while trans is hot shift manualy from first to park holding it in each gear for three seconds to get an acurate reading) it does more damage to over fill a trans and power steering than to run it a little low. best of luck

1998 Jag xj8l lost reverse, can not find where to check auto-trans fluid level

There is no dipstick on your tranmission. There is a fill plug that needs to be removed to check the level once the trans fluid temp reaches 30-40 degrees C. When the fluid is full it will drip out of that fill plug. The fill plug is the 8mm hex on the passenger rear of the trans case.

The fluid from my transmission is mixing with radiator fluid. I was told that the core is burnt out in my radiator, and all that was needed to be done is to replace the old radiator with a new one and...

What happened is the tube that goes thru the radiator sprung a leak and coolant is getting in the trans and visa-vera so the answer that you got is 100% correct. But you have to change trans fluid and coolant and do NOT drive or you will be buying a new trans. Thanks

How much trans fluid capacity in the manual 5 speed dodge stealth

never change filter as i dont think it exsists. The fill should be located on the transmission up from the drain. You fill untill fluid pours out and stops then replace plug. Car must be level.

How to fill automatic transmission fluid 1998 Accord 4 door

there is a large fill plug on top of the trans. it is a 17mm. you can see it from under the hood on the rear top of the trans. by the way this bolt is typically very tight and then breaks free very loose so be careful you dont smash your hand when it breaks free. also if your doing a trans drain and fill its only 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 quarts. and i would recommend using honda auto trans fluid- hope this helps

Replaced the transmission do i refill it?

I think this model has a 4t40e trans. The fill is a cap Near the top of the bell housing. It is a red screw cap that says trans fill on it. There is a plug just above the lip of the bottom pan gasket near the passenger cv shaft. Remove the plug and fill the trans until oil runs from the plug hole. Now start the car and continue to fill until oil runs from the plug again. When the trans oil is running out with the engine running it is full. Reinstall the plug.

I need to find where to add transmision fluid 2000 vette

Is it a manual or automatic trans? If it's auto trans, there will be a dipstick tube near the firewall on the passenger side. You fill the trans through the dipstick tube with a funnel.Careful not to overfill. If it's a manual trans, there will be a plug halfway up the side of the trans.Remove the plug & fill till it starts to leak out the plug hole.Be sure to use the recommended fluid in either case.Good luck,
