SOURCE: 1999 cadillac Deville cold air blowing out passenger side vents

Sounds like a Blend door issue, but could be the controller switch, Test ALL modes of operation to see what works and what does not. That should narrow it down a bit. The Blend doors are flap/ doors that regulate air flow, newer vehicles are plastic - electric assemblies ...prone to failure. Any clicking or thumping noises during switching modes and on-off suggest a bad Blend door. Hope that helps...good luck

SOURCE: ac blows from defrost and not front vents on 2002

I'm pretty sure the door that directs the air between the defroster and front vents is vacuum actuated. Check the vacuum lines in the engine compartment that go to the firewall. Find an approx 1/4" rubber hose that goes into the firewall around the center of the firewall and trace it back to the motor and make sure it hasn't come loose.

If not that, then it may have come loose at the a/c control panel. That will be much more difficult to get at to check. You may be able to access it through the front of the dash.

Good luck.

Air Conditioner on my 98 DeVille has been a little flacky for a long time. Sometimes would stop blowing throught A/C vents and instead blow through heater and defrost. After a few minutes it's alway gotten...

The paths through your climate system are controlled by blend & diversion doors that are controlled by your settings and actuated by vacuum 'motors.' If you live in a hot climate, you may have cracked vacuum hoses which can cause the kind of random air temp and mix you are having.
If you have never had any maintenance done that involves rubber products, it may be time to do it.

Air and heat not blowing air through vents

Either Your fan switch is burned out or you blower motor is no good, your blower motor is on the passenger side under the dash. Before you replace any parts you need to check your fuses and relays under your hood and in the car. Usually if your fan switch goes bad you will still get some air blowing thru the vents, so my guess would be blower motor, If its not a blown fuse or relay.
