SOURCE: toyota camry 1997 3.0 v-6 code p0446

That code is for the evaporative emmisions system. Here is a link to an open forum you can go to, this will help you understand what it is, and why. The vehicle on the site is a van, but the code, and parts involved are one in the same, so don't worry about the difference in vehicle. The van is a toyota, and this is the information on the p0446 code. Hope this helps you.

SOURCE: Transmission oil for toyota camry 1993

1993 Camrys take regular Dexron ATF. It should be changed every 30,000 miles. If you have never changed it, and it is over 100,000 miles, I would strongly suggest a professional "transmission-flush", with a designed specifically for flushing transmissions. To just drain the fluid at this point will leave roughly 3 quarts of dirty ATF in the system; a complete flush will eliminate ny dirty ATF traces.

Location of oil drain plug toyota solara 6 cylinder - all I see at the bottom of the engine/transmission is the drain for the transmission.

- There is no drain plug on the transmission. You will need to remove all bolts from trans oil pan.

SAFETY: Use Proper protective equipment. Jack stands, eye protection etc.

We like to use a garbage can lid with a small drain hole in it as a funnel, As it is larger than the pan and oil will seem like its coming from all directions. so try to let the pan fall from one side.

There is a magnet in the bottom of the pan, remove clean and replace.

This is a great time to also re-torque the valve body bolts. You will need a tech-manual for this.

Install new gasket. torque all bolts. Add fluid approx 4 quarts of the correct fluid and restart vehicle check fluid level often and check for leaks.

HAZMAT:
Ensure you properly dispose of the waste transmission fluid at your local hazmat center.

Hope this tip helps.

Change transmission pan gasket

Drain the fluid through the allen drain bolt, if equipped.
Retorque drain plug to 36 foot pounds

Remove the 10mm bolts around the perimeter of the transmission pan.

It often helps to loosen the transmission mount and pry the transmission up to aid in access to some of the bolts.

Drop the pan and remaining fluid.

Clean the pan with brake parts cleaner or equivalent, do NOT use a lint producing rag, let it air dry.

Install a new cork gasket, NO sealant and reinstall pan with bolts torqued to 43 inch pounds.

Refill transmission fluid with 3-4 quarts fluid. Check level once warmed up and adjust if necessary.

Need torque specs for oil pan bolts

torque specs for these bolts can be found in a Haynes or Chilton manual availiable from your local parts store, or maybe at your local library, however these bolts are usually no more than 14 ft pounds, unlike cylinder head bolts, the bolts do not need to have any stretch factor to hold the oil pan gasket in place or sealed.
