Question about 1997 Mazda Millenia
My son has a 1997 Mazda Millenia and when you take the key out of the ignition, then open the door on the drivers side, the sound keeps going as if you left your lights on or didn't take the key out, whatever. I have checked everything, the trunk door is locked the windows all closed tight, the interior lights are off, not sure what it could be, I do know the anti theft light usually goes on after locking the doors and it is not lighting up. Also when i try to lock the doors with the auto locks on the door, it pops right back to unlock, Anyone have any idea what could be wrong?? Could it be a fuse or something? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, a concerned Mom
Take some "electoclean" spray and hose down the key slot ( 4 bursts). Then spray the key and insert to work it around. My car did the same thing and it clears the beeping noise and allows the security system to engage.

It's always a good Idea to check fuses first, as that is the easiest thing to fix. I would suspect if its not a fuse it may be the door open sensor, if you open the door there should be a device in the door frame of the car where the door connects to the car door hinges. If you push that sensor in with your finger it should turn off the interior lights. It may be wiring to that sensor, or the sensor itself, also the sensor may have worn out to the point where it does not push in enough to activate the switch anymore. good luck.
