You need a part called a MFS or multifunction switch. The steering wheel cover usually needs to come off and the part should be exposed. Carefully remove the wiring loom plugin and then unbolt the part. The part may have Torx head surfaces requiring a Torx socket, not a slotted or Phillips head.

You may be able to save some money by getting a Salvaged part.

SOURCE: Having trouble with wiper control arm on steering

It's most likely a bad stick. You would be having problems with all the other settings if it were motor/relay.

Can i interchange my 1990 buick century's steering column with a 1989 buick century column?

Yes, the steering columns are the same. be sure to go over the accessories. There could be little changes with controls. Compare intermittent wiper controls, cruise control, and tilt steering.

My turn lever is broken , on the insu=ide of the steering colume, i cannt find and info or part to fix it.

You have more problems than just replacing the lever. There is still a piece of the broken lever inside the wiper switch, and is nearly impossible to get out. You will need to replace both the turn lever and the wiper switch. Replacing the wiper switch is no easy task, and if you are not familiar with General Motors steering columns, it's probably best to pay a shop to do the repair. The top half of the steering column has to be disassembled, and the wiper switch harness fed up through the column.

This sounds like the wiper control module. Most of these are a module attached to the wiper motor but are replaceable seperate from the wiper transmisson.

Controller for intermittent wipers/ washer pump

Get the wiring harness at a salvage yard. I doubt they will charge more than $5.

But why change the steering adjustment all the time?
It is easier to just change the seat adjustment.
If you look at trucks, buses, etc., they all have the wheel much up and flatter than most cars. That is because that is actually the safest and best for people who know how to drive safely. You have less control when the wheel is down towards you more, so it is not a good idea.

When I start my 2003 buick lesabre the windshield wipers come on by themselves and continue intermittenantly until they stop.

Behind your ignition inside the steering column, there is a plastic piece that screws to the back that has to do with your accessories. its bad or your wiper control stick also located on the steering column is bad.
