There are several circuits protected by this one fuse, so someone will need to figure out which circuit has the short to ground.
Could be in the wiring, a stuck relay, or something else.
You'll probably need to get a shop manual to have all of the wiring diagrams connected with the key switch.
Some of the circuits include ignition, fuel injectors, engine computer, and so on.
Your horn button is defective. It is touching ground all the time completing the circuit and blowing the horn. If the wire going to the horn is frayed and tiucjing metal anywhere that is the same as the button which connects the wire going to the button to metal on the bike also known as ground. Find what color the wire is by looking at the horn itself. One side of the horn is battery plus voltage. The other side when grounded makes the horn blow. Unplug it if you can't solve it.
Check the starter ground wire.It might touch a hot wire.
Realize that the accessory or ignition wire stayed ground when the key is turned off.That's what will happen.Shorted wire stay constant and the key off stays grounded.Equal (Power+} and (Ground-) or check the ignition key switcht for short.
If you have everything unplugged, and your still blowing the fuse, then you have a short to ground somewhere. Here is a picture of the schematic, not really that much going on in this system. I would be checking the main starter wire for chaffing along with any other wires in the area, including the wires coming out of the fuse box. And see if you can at least hear the starter relay click when you try to start it. If you can't hear it, try swapping it with another relay in the fuse box that doesn't have an important function, like fog lamps, or the horn, temporarily of course. If you get tired of blowing large fuses, you can get a circuit breaker of the same amperage at any parts store along with some wire and blade type terminals, and you can insert the blade terminals in the sbf number 4 slots and connect it to the circuit breaker. And inst of blowing a fuse all the time, it will just reset automatically. just make sure it doesn't get too hot. I hope this info helps!
You should replace all the wires that are in that steering column. Use OEM wire harnesses. There is a clock spring wire in that column that is bad, The shift indicator is a clip on a piece of string that moves when the column turns with the shifter.
you may have sett off the panic button on your key chain that caused the car to go into panic mode for the computer. i have had this happen with my old 2000 malibu one suggestion i would say is to try pressing the panic button a few times to see if that is engaging or may disengage the system. how ever thats if it is related to the panic mode of your car. other solutions is buy a new horn or horn relay you may have a short in the horn that could also be making it go off continually. if you are still having trouble see a chevy dealer shop and talk with them about your issue.
