Do not dress the spark plug wires to make them look pretty. The spark plug wires on must cross each other at right angles every place they cross. They cannot be run side by side, or the engine will crossfire.

SOURCE: P0304* Cylinder #4 Misfire on a 1999 dodge

This would be the forth cylinder from the front(where the pulleys, and belts are). There will be a coil, and under the coil,is a boot, connected to the spark plug. The miss fire could be any,of the three.I would replace the spark plugs (all four)and the boots. Then if the miss fire is still there, replace the coil,on number four cylinder.

I have 2000 dodge ram 1500 with a number 5 and a number 7 miss fire along with the speed sensor it just happened driving down the road can you tell me what might have caused this and who I can go about...

Did you change the spark plugs also ? Could have a head gasket leak between 5 an 7 ! Could have bad fuel injectors , clogged ! What about the speed sensor , you have a DTC stored in memory ,have check engine light on ? Need you to explain this a little better , misfire along with the speed sensor ! What about speed sensor ? You could have a vacuum leak affecting those two cylinders !

Codes P0325, P0330, P0300, P0308, P1404, P0058. I know. ..just went to get my oil change the mechanic told me he had found the engine light with those codes. It's a 2005 Dodge Durango V8-287 4.7L SOHC. I...

These codes are telling you that you are having cylinders misfiring..And the knock sensor is picking up detonation knocks..with all these codes your engine must be running really bad.. Start by checking your spark plugs.. spark plug wires, coils.. EGR system. If you allow this condition to continue it will ruin youir cats.. a very costly repair. Check to see which cylinder is misfiring.. One of the codes indicated it was #8 cylindler. run the engine and disconnect the spark plug.. if there is no change or very little change in how the engine is running.. try moving the wire to another plug and moving that plug wire to the #8.. If the Problem travels with the wire.. its the wire.. if #8 still has the problem.check the plug and coil... Keep looking until you find the ofending cylinders and repair them.. Check to make sure the hoses are hooked up to your EGR and it is functioning... post a comment here and let us know how you are doing.

I have a 2003 dodge durango 4.7 and it is overheating which i already r&r the thermostat. fixed the problem a lil but not 100%. also check engine light turned on for second time both same code P0308...

yes... overheating can cause issues in your piston/cylinder head. if your cylinder head is made from aluminum and not metal, overheating can cause cracks and bends in your cylinder head. if this cracks occur inside the combustion chamber, then proper compression cannot be attained. you need to rebore then resleeve your combustion chamber and change the pistons to fix this issue. this will also require resurfacing of cylinder head to ensure that it does not create leaks against crankcase.

not only did the problem switch cylinders, it switched banks. cylinders 5&6 are on the drivers side and 4 is on the passenger side. i would recheck all wires to make sure you have the correctly installed.

99 5.2 durango :pulled codes for multipe missfire cylinder #5-7

Aloha We have just replaced all of what you have replaced, plus water pump, fuel pump, pcv valve and 02 sensor. Took it to mechanic today we had misfire on 1,2,6,7. Mechanic said that the 99 dodge is known for bad computers, he checked ours and works great turns out that it was the coil. Ours was jumping 1/4 inch and had a orange/yellow spark. it is supposed to have a 1 inch spark and be blue. This has solved our problems after 527 dollars later.
Check the coil!
