Question about 1989 Plymouth Acclaim

Open Question

Rough idle on my 1989 plymouth acclaim

Changed the map sensor, checked vacuum hoses for leaks, checked timing, very rough idle, hold pedal to floor and slowly revs to high rev. At high rev it wants to run smooth. Let idle drop and runs very rough almost stalling.

1995 plymouth acclaim-hight idle/where and how do I get to the ilde(high) screw? Thank you.

A 1995 Plymouth Acclaim is a fuel injected vehicle which means it does not have an idle screw like the older carbrated cars. Instead your cars idle is controlled by sensors and the cars on board computer. There is a chance you either have a bad sensor or a vacuum leak some where. Both will cause a high idle. I hope this helps you out.

The engine idles rough. Any suggestions?

a vacuum leak is the most common cause for a rough idle, a bad spark plug could also be the cause. Spray down your intake manifold area with carb cleaner and see if the idle changes, don't get carried away, spray just a small area at a time, and wait 10 seconds for a result.

Wheres the vacuum hose on a 1990 plymouth voyager? i think i have a vacuum leak, car drives fine but occasionally starts idling rough at a stop, it will slowly die on its own but if i press on the gas it...

You need to get the Haynes Repair manual on your vehicle so you have a diagram of the vacum lines attached to your vehicle and where each connects. There is more than one Vacum line.

Need to know what codes 13, 25, 41 are for ecm

13-"map sensor" vacuum side not working properly, or has vacuum leak.
25- AIS (automatic idle speed motor) malfunction, may be caused by vacuum leak as well, but check electrical connections.
41-alternator field circuit open, or shorted.

What problem are you having with vehicle, or does this point you in right direction?
