Mass airflow meters should not affect idling of engine ,,, if they are faulty the power will be reduced or acceleration will be poor ,,,, it seems as if you have a idling issue or a tick over problem ,,, firstly check the throttle body for dirt and make sure there are no airleaks in that area ,,,,

I have had the same remote starter in my car for 8 years. It worked perfectly before but now if it is starting cold, it immediately stalls. The starter attempts 3 times and it starts then immediately

Have you had a battery test done? Sounds like a weak battery or dirty and loose battery connections. The cold weather doesn't help because it makes your engine oil thicker.

I have a Saab 9-3 and it overheated so I took it to the mechanic, he fixed the head gasket, i got it back for one day and it was rough as guts & kept on stalling, so i took it back he said it was...

My guess would be that the valve timing is off. Did he machine the heads at a machine shop? Have the valves checked/done? New head gasket? New head bolts? What year is it? It sounds like you may have 2 different issues with the starting and it running rough...however, does it smooth out after you let it warm up? Is there an engine light on in the car? What are the codes?
