Honda Radio Code for a 1997 Accord

I have the radio code for my vehicle. I am wondering if there is a special way to enter the code. When the numbers are entered by themselves the code is not accepted.

You have to get to the settings of the radio to get to the code input and then you can put the code in....

One of the buttons should take you to it.

You need the radio model & serial number, and the car VIN. Then contact Honda and, with proof of ownership, they will give you the magic code. To get the radio model & serial, you may need to remove the radio physically. You can find instructions on eBay for about $5 -- well worth it and not nearly as difficult as one might think.

The radio code on my accord was on the bottom of the ash tray. Might be in the same place on your car.

I had this happen to me, you will need the serial number of the radio and the serial number of the car. If you don't have the radio serial number you will have to take out the radio to get it. Call the dealer with the serial number of the radio and the serial number of the car and they will give you the radio code.

Go to the Glove box and get the serial number to the stereo, It is not the unlock code itself. Call a Honda dealer and give them the serial number, and they should give you the code for free.
Hope it helps Dave

I have a 1997 honda accord, I just changed the car battery recently, and my radio keep asking for a stupid code, I do have a code, and I enter the code properly, but the radio isn't working still..? help...

Are you sure you have the correct code? Look in the glove-box. There should be a small sticker, usually near the front left of of the compartment. There will be two sets of numbers. The number set with 5 digits is the correct code.

If you or someone else changed the radio, you'll have to contact the radio manufacturer with the radio model and serial numbers for the code.

Need radio code for 1997 Honda Accord SE has the CD player.

Obtain serial number of the unit that is in your vehicle. ( usually on the back of the unit).
Pay a visit to the dealer with the title , registration and serial number of the unit and he will give you the code. Cost $ approx $50 to $75.
If you choose not to remove the radio yourself to obtain the serial number the dealer will do the whole show for you for approx $100.00.
Contact your local dealer prior to showing up .

My honda accord 1997 radio is reading err-03. I recently lost my keys and did not know my code so I hit a bunch of numbers. I found my code but it wont let me enter it. What do I do?

You might try disconnecting the negative battery cable. That should cause you to lose whatever programming your radio currently has and move to the CODE required point. Since you have the code, you don't have anything to lose.
Might work. Hope so.

My 1997 honda accord radio

Unlocking Error E3 on Honda AccordI had the same problem after my battery died and I didn't know what "Code" meant so I just pushed buttons until I got Error E3 and it locked up. You need to disconnect one battery terminal for 30 seconds or so, then reconnect, and the radio will say "Code" again. Type in the 5 digit code fount on the Anti-Theft Radio Identification Card (a white credit card size card that comes with the vehicle at the time of purchase). This will unlock the radio and return it to a functional state. It worked for me, so I hope that helps.
Try this
I discovered a very easy and FREE way to fix your radio. Make sure your radio is OFF. Hold down the preset buttons 1 and 6 at the same time. Turn the radio on and your SERIAL NUMBER will appear. 4 numbers first and then 4 more. Write them down (obviously) then call (800) 999-1009. Make sure you have your VIN number handy because they will ask for it. They will ask for your name and approx. milage, and your radio's serial number. They will then give you your radio unlock code--WRITE IT DOWN!

hope this helps.
thanks.
