Question about 2006 Toyota Sequoia

1 Answer

Rear Automatic Window

I have a 2006 Sequoia and recently the rear tail window, rear window defrost and rear wiper/wash will not operate. I looked for a fuse, but could not find one with all of these components. I know the wipers and rear defrost will not operate if the rear window is down slightly, but the window will not operate up or down.

Please advise

I have the same problem. Where is the fuse

Same exact problem. It happened once before and toyota service said it was a reset switch for the window out of adjustment.

I have the same problem, there is a sensor in the rear window and if the window doesn't fully seal then they won't work roll the window all the way down and then back up if it still doesn't work then you need to take it to the dealership.

I have a 2005 Toyota Sequoia with the same problem.  Is it possible that this stopper is causing the problem?  If it is could you please instruct me on how to get this problem repaired?

Same problem, there is a small metal stopper that disables the window movement and depending upon the position of the window, will also disable the defroster and wiper. There is a service bulliten that describes a complete replacement of the window control (back door power window inoperable, toyota technical service bulletin EL 007-06). You only need to remove the stopper. follow the sections for that stopper removal. Took about half an hour. The new replacement motor and controller do not use the stopper.

Which fuse is for the rear window wiper and rear window defogger on 2003 Toyota 4Runner (V6)?

You Have one fuse for the wipers in the car. Left side of steering wheel and the back cover should list the fuses and location. The other box is located in the engine compartment above the battery. They should list the fuse locations under the compartment covering the fuses. Hope that helps

The rear wiper, rear window washer and the rear on the 2001 sequo

a fuse would only apply if they all share the same circuit. i don't believe they do. i think the only common thread they share is that they are on the rear hatch. look to see if a wiring harness is pinched of chafed through.

I have lost all power to the rear hatch of my 2005 Toyota Sequoia. Rear defroster is out, power rear window is out, rear wiper is out. Is there a fuse to check?

I had the same thing happen...I already had the rear door taken apart because the latch mechanism had failed and I was replacing that (not too bad a job: $100 part and 2 hours)...while I had the door apart I tried tapping on the window motor with hammer to get it working again...that did not seem to do anything. I then started looking at fuses.. There are 3 fuse boxes under the hood, and 1 panel by the driver's left knee. The top left fuse in the driver's left knee fuse box was labeled "TAIL". I pulled that one and even though it was not burned through...it looked a little funny (had some discoloration on the contacts like it had been getting hot). I replaced that and then shut the rear door and started up the engine. What do you know..everything works. I think it was likely the fuse...but who knows. Maybe this will work for someone else too.

2004 4runner rear wipe blade and fluid just stopped working, is there an easy fix for this or should i take to dealer

If your rear wiper, fluid wash, and rear defrost stopped working at the same time try this first before taking it to the dealer. Start the 4Runner and lower the rear window glass. Wait a few seconds and raise the rear window. Turn the engine off and wait a few seconds. Restart the engine and see if this helps. I had the same problem after I had my drive belt replaced and the shop disconnected the battery cable. When the battery cable is disconnected it causes the rear wiper, fluid wash and defrost to stop working. Good luck!

2004 4Runner Rear Wiper and Defroster won't work

I just had the same problem. I have an '04 4Runner and my rear wiper, fluid wash, and defrost stopped working after it was recently serviced. If you had the battery cables disconnected recently here is the solution...Start the engine and lower the rear tailgate window all the way... close the rear window and then turn the engine off. Restart the engine and the wiper, wash, and defrost. should work again. It has something to do with the computer which needs to be rebooted. Good luck.

Toyota 4runner gate window, wiper, and keyless entry not working

make sure the back window is all the way up then try the wiper, if it still does not work then it is a sensor for the rear window (about $30.00) if you installed it yourself
