Check battery to make sure it is fully charged also make sure that the car :) is in park because I have had this happen to me and also make sure the battery terminals are clean and you can do this with a little baking soda and water

Engine died while driving on the freeway, now only cranks but wont turn over/

As with any no start problem, have you checked for spark at the plugs and normal fuel pressure at the injectors ?
Does it crank with normal compression ?

Normal crank no start

If your car will not start, do the following
1.) when you turn the key to the on position, note whether you can hear the fuel pump energize. You should hear the pump run for 3-5 seconds
2.) when you crank the engine, does it sound normal, or is it faster or slower than normal and is it EVEN
3.) Is the check engine light on while cranking
4.) finally, if possible, do you have SPARK at any/all spark plugs

All this should take just a few minutes and will help 10 fold during the diagnoses process

I have a 95 honda civic automatic which was running normal except for a metal clapping sound coming from inside the engine/transmission which over a week got louder but would either change in sound or get...

Have a look at the flexi plate . That is the plate with the starter ring gear on it which the starter engages to turn the engine over. They have a habit of cracking and failing. If it has broken away completely it is possible that the plate has been jammed by the starter pinion against the bell housing.

Turns but will not start

Check to see if the Check Engine Light comes on when you first turn the key on (without cranking the engine). If not, there may be a power issue (fuse). Make sure that you have spark and fuel injector pulses. There may be a chance that the timing belt jumped or broken. Sometimes you can tell by the sound of the engine; rather than the usual sound, it makes when cranking, you may hear the engine cranking unevenly or faster than normal. Sometimes you can tell if the belt is broken by removing the oil fill cap and looking for valve train movement. Otherwise, an engine compression test will sometimes help to diagnose this. Sometimes the timing belt cover has to be removed to check for this condition.

Hr holden ignition switch

Sounds like you need a new ignition switch. Not the lock cylinder, but the electrical part of the switch.

Buckoing while accelerating . thinking it is possibly crank sensor. Is there also a cam sensor?

Any 1996+ year vehicle will have both of those sensors. If there is a problem with one or any sensor at all it will turn your check engine, or service engine soon light on. to locate the precise problem it will need to be checked by an auto shop or someone who has a OBD2 scanner.

RPM's are fluctuating while driving. Turns over, but wont fire when cold. Have to hold accelerator pedal down to start when cold.

Sounds like you either need to reolace the crank sensor or the camshaft speed sensor, depending on which your engine comes with.If you tach doesn't get a signal then neither does the engine controller and it is like you are not even trying to start the car although you are in fact turning the key and cranking the engine.

I have a 2002 6cil nissan pathfinder, it was running, find, then stalled and now will crank but will not start, please help. Add info no check engine or other warning has happened

it could be the timing belt.
If it is the timing belt, it may sound a little different when cranking it. It may turn over faster, sounding free, or it may sound two toned when cranking (normal, then fast, normal then fast with every revalution)
Hope this helps

2003 kia rio car die

Sounds like a timing belt issue. Pull the spark plugs and check for damage. This engine is an interference engine which means there probably will be head and piston damage. A used engine will be about $1400 or so. If you can do the work the wrecking yards will be the best place to find a replacement head and pistons. Obviously you want to buy new gaskets.
