Your car needs a tune-up, you will not be able to fix it at home, but sounds like its not a big issue.

That is not normal. When is the last time you had the transmission serviced? Also Mercedes have a problem with the plug in the transmission. Every one we service gets the new plug.

Starter problems

It's diesel. Diesel engines do not like cold, but that is normal. I am going to assume this engine has a start delay in cold weather to allow for Glow Plugs to warm up the cylinders before actually turning over the engine. I don't know about TDI's specifically, but I think a TDI Mech at your local Volkswagen dealer could confirm my assumption. They may call the parts something different, but the function will be the same. Sounds like normal operation for a diesel engine in cold weather...obviously, this would be why the engine always turns over immediately in warm weather...no need for the Glow Plugs to warm the cylinders. Best of luck resolving this problem.

High rev at cold (winter cold!) idle

Your toyota technician should know what a "cold starting solenoid" is. It is the little thing that works your throttle until the motor warms up and something else takes over. I'd suggest going to another technician.

Hi, I've an accent crdi 2003. In mornings engine

I would check the catlic converter to see if its not blocked, best thing to do is to go to a exhaust shop and they can do vacume test or tempreature test.

When I start in the morning my lumina'99 starts and runs well but when I park somewhere and try to start while engine is warm, it won't start. I serviced Self Starter and replaced battery but no...

Two possibilities. first when the starter is warm/hot they get hot spots in them and drag, not letting the engine turn over fast enough or at all. second would be the ignition module and these also are affected by heat, they work fine when they are cold , then short out with the heat. I gave you both possibilities as I don't know if your van is not turn over the engine or just not starting up.

Some vehicles don't run well with the platinum plugs. It will cause the engine to misfire and skip. I would go back with the OEM or a step above unless your car came with platinum plugs which is doubtful. The plugs may be firing off correct when cold but as the engine warms and more friction is there the plugs may be doing more bad because it's not firing correct from the plug being warm. It sounds strange but I work for BOSCH and there are alot of things that don't seem normal to someone that's not involved in making these parts and seeing the everyday test and use. Good Luck. Let me know what you find out and what works.

Hi,
You need to get your engine coolant thermistor checked and tested. This is what tells the ECM when the engine temperature is at normal working temperature and turns the idle down.
But when the idle won't come down from cold to warm this is usually the main fault.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
