Only comes on when decelerating & goes off once the car is accelerating again ! After the revvs have gone down , only have to revv the St a little for the warning light to go off ! Suspecting vacuum or backpressue is causing it but not sure !

Unfortunately you can't get a fault code reading unless the warning light is on all the time ! But I figured it out ! After changing the 02 sensor , I noticed the manifold gasket was buggererd & was leaking air ! So when I was coasting in gear it was sucking air into the manifold causing the 02 sensor to read a fault ! Was tricky to work out , but now solved :)

I asked because someone with more experience than me might have the answer for me ! It did take a couple of weeks to figure out , and a guy who designs & teaches people how to use code tools explained to me that the light has to be on all the time for you to get the code ! Hope this is helpful for others that have intermittent warning light problems ! There's no point trying to get the code read until the light stays on all the time !!!

I wasn't trying to give you a hard time, just kidding around. But FYI Japanese electronic systems on all makes prior to 1996 model year had stone age self diagnostic capabilities compared to US makes. I've worked on many makes and models over the years and the esiest ones to diagnose where Fords with GM models a close second, they do store codes after a fault occurs 3 times in a single drive cycle and very good self diagnostics. Fixing a Japanese car with the OBD1 electronic engine control systems (used from about 1983-1995) was a real pain, mostly guess work. For this reason I have never owned anything but American cars and trucks, although I have had the unfortunate experience of having to fix them fairly often

Hi,

I'm not familiar with the car ,but , look under the bonnet ( hood ) and there should be another fuse box relay tray that has the heavy current/ voltage fuses relays in there .
